Bosch 800 Series TQU60703 Review — Premium Fully Automatic Espresso Review

For coffee enthusiasts who want café-quality drinks without the manual effort, the Bosch 800 Series TQU60703 delivers a fully automated experience. This super-automatic espresso machine grinds fresh beans, brews espresso and milk-based beverages, and offers over 30 drink options via a large touchscreen. It targets users who value convenience, customization, and a sleek stainless steel design. Standout features include a ceramic bean grinder, a removable brew unit for easy cleaning, and a Home Connect app for remote operation. While its $2,500 price tag is steep, the machine promises to replace trips to the coffee shop with barista-level results at home.

Product Overview

In the world of super-automatic espresso machines, the Bosch 800 Series competes with Jura, Miele, and Philips. It aims to simplify the coffee-making process while delivering rich, consistent shots. The machine comes in a stainless steel finish (model TQU60307) that includes a cup warmer—a feature not available on the black version. It accepts whole beans (5.1 lb capacity hopper) and has a large 1.8L water tank with an integrated filter. The machine offers 13 built-in beverage programs plus additional recipes via the app, totaling 36 drinks. The milk system includes a dedicated container that attaches to the side, and a separate tube for alternative milk. Cleaning is emphasized: the machine has automatic rinse cycles, a removable brew unit, and guided descaling. The touchscreen interface walks users through setup and maintenance. At 22 pounds and 18.4 inches deep, it requires counter space. The water hardness test strip helps set the machine correctly. Overall, it's a substantial appliance designed for daily use.

Build & Materials

The Bosch 800 Series is constructed with a brushed stainless steel finish that complements modern kitchens. The ceramic grinder ensures consistent burr grinding and operates more quietly than many competitors. The brew unit is removable for thorough cleaning, a significant advantage over sealed systems from Jura. The milk container attaches magnetically and the entire milk system can be disassembled for dishwasher-safe cleaning—a highlight for many owners.

The 5-inch color touchscreen is responsive and guides users through all operations. The water tank and drip tray are generously sized. However, some users note that the bean hopper lid sits loosely on top of the beans, causing occasional spillage during refills. The stainless steel model includes a cup warmer surface on top, which works best with upside-down cups to trap heat. Overall, the machine feels solid and well-insulated, operating with muted sounds.

The Bosch 800 Series TQU60703 impresses with its build quality, drink variety, and ease of use. It stands out for its removable brew unit and app connectivity. Exceptional coffee with extensive options in a stylish design
As a European coffee enthusiast who has owned several machines including Jura S9, Jura Ena micro 5, Philips Lattego 4400, and various pod machines, this one stands out as my favorite. It's truly plug-and-play: sleek, user-friendly, and makes delicious coffee even before the break-in period. Customization is abundant with numerous coffee choices and the World Coffee feature for new drink ideas. Be sure to read the manual or explore settings for hidden features. It's slightly deeper than the Philips Lattego but similar footprint to the Jura S9. The machine is well-insulated, so operation is quiet. The milk container is easy to remove and clean. I appreciate the remote app that allows me to start preheating from my bedroom. However, the hopper lid tends to rest on beans and static cling, causing spillage during refills—I recommend a 3D-printed extension. Milk drinks start warm but could benefit from an extra-hot setting. Overall, an excellent machine for elevating your coffee experience.
Outstanding performance, far superior to Miele and Jura.
This machine makes exceptional cappuccinos and is very easy to clean, especially the milk system. It surpasses my previous Miele 6350 and features a removable brew unit for cleaning, which Jura lacks. The screen is responsive and the cup warmer works best with inverted cups. The stainless steel model includes the cup warmer; if not needed, choose the cheaper version. As a former super-auto seller of 22 years, I highly recommend it. It heats up fast, makes great espresso, and handles almond milk well. The large water tank and intelligently designed drip tray make maintenance easy. Overall, it's one of my favorite machines.
Disappointing Experience with Coffee Machine
I suspect the positive reviews are fake. Setup took nearly two hours. The machine turned on intermittently and shut off randomly. Lattes were extremely watery even with Starbucks beans. Amazon return was easy. Found coffee grounds inside when cleaning. Not recommended.
