The Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee and Espresso Maker by Breville, now available renewed through Amazon Renewed, brings the convenience of capsule-based brewing with a touch of sophistication. The renewed model offers the same features as new at a reduced price, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious enthusiasts. With one-touch operation, automatic capsule ejection, and smart connectivity for software updates, it fits seamlessly into modern kitchens. This review evaluates the machine's design, functionality, and value to help you decide if a renewed Vertuo Next is the right choice.
Product Overview
The Vertuo Next is a fully automatic capsule machine compatible exclusively with Nespresso Vertuo pods. It brews seven different cup sizes: Ristretto (0.85 oz), Espresso (1.35 oz), Double Espresso (2.7 oz), Gran Lungo (5 oz), Mug/Coffee (7.8 oz), Alto (12 oz), and Carafe Pour-Over (18 oz). The 1.1-liter water tank is removable for easy refilling, and the used capsule container holds about ten spent pods. The machine measures approximately 5.5 inches wide, 13.3 inches deep, and 12.3 inches tall, with a weight of 9.5 pounds. Its exterior is finished in aluminum with plastic accents, giving it a sleek, modern look. The renewed unit may show minor cosmetic imperfections, but it is tested and certified to work like new. Setup is simple: plug in, rinse the water tank, insert a capsule, and press the button. The machine also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for automatic firmware updates, ensuring optimal performance over time. Cleaning requires periodic descaling (recommended every 3 months) and wiping the exterior; the drip tray and capsule container are dishwasher safe. While the Vertuo Next's reliance on proprietary pods limits flexibility, its convenience and cup variety are strong selling points for those willing to commit to Nespresso's ecosystem.

Build & Materials
The Vertuo Next features a combination of aluminum-finished exterior and durable plastic components. The water tank is transparent plastic with clear volume markings, and the used capsule container slides out from the front. The machine's compact footprint (5.5 x 13.3 x 12.3 inches) fits under most cabinets, making it suitable for small countertops. The removable drip tray accommodates various cup sizes, and an adjustable cup rest is included for larger mugs. The brewing head is constructed from stainless steel with a barcode reader to detect capsule type. Overall build quality feels sturdy, though some reviewers note that plastic parts may feel less premium than the original Vertuo models. The renewed unit may exhibit minor scratches or dents from previous use, but all functional components are restored to working condition. Cleaning is straightforward: the tank, drip tray, and capsule container are dishwasher safe; the outer surfaces wipe clean with a damp cloth.
