Kismile Espresso Machine with Grinder Review β€” 20 Bar PID Control: Review

Looking for a complete espresso setup without the counter clutter? The Kismile Espresso Machine with Grinder combines a built-in precision grinder, a 20-bar pump, and PID temperature control in one compact unit. It’s designed for home baristas who want fresh-ground espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos without the cost of a fully automatic machine. With 30 grind settings and four included filters, it offers customization. The machine is particularly suited for beginners and intermediate users wanting to step up from pod systems. It includes a steam wand and hot water dispenser, making it versatile for various drinks.

Product Overview

The Kismile espresso machine aims to simplify home brewing by integrating the grinder and espresso maker into one unit, saving counter space and reducing hassle. The water tank holds 2.8 liters, enough for several drinks before refilling. The machine measures 16.34 inches deep, 15.75 inches wide, and 13.39 inches high, fitting most kitchen counters. Construction is metal with a stainless steel finish, giving a durable, modern look. It uses a single boiler, meaning you cannot steam and brew at the same timeβ€”a trade-off at this price point. The included accessories are generous: a milk frothing pitcher, commercial-grade portafilter, four precision filters (single, double, ESE pod, and more), a tamper, and a cleaning kit. Everything you need is in the box. Cleaning is straightforward with a removable water tank and drip tray. The machine requires periodic descaling, and the steam wand doubles as a hot water dispenser for easy flushing. Users appreciate the straightforward controls, with buttons for single and double shots, steam, and hot water. The bean hopper lid seals to keep beans fresh. Overall, the Kismile is a practical choice for those wanting an all-in-one solution without a high price tag.

Shot Quality

The Kombucha-based pressure and PID control deliver balanced extraction with rich crema. Users report consistent results, with many noting excellent shot quality for the price. The grinder's 30 adjustments allow dialing in for various beans, though retention of grounds may require periodic cleaning. The steam wand produces good microfoam, but the single boiler requires a brief wait between brewing and steaming.

In real-world use, the machine heats up quicklyβ€”ready in about a minute. The auto-purge feature after steaming can cause water to drip into the drip tray, necessitating frequent emptying. Some users experienced reliability issues after descaling, with one reporting erratic controls. Overall, shot quality is commendable for beginners, though experienced users may desire more consistent pressure profiling.

Compact Powerhouse: Big Results in a Small Package
We needed a smaller machine for our lake house due to limited space. After reading reviews, we chose this model and are amazed. It arrived well-packaged, was easy to set up, and delivers excellent espresso shots with consistent quality every time. Despite its appearance, it's designed to maximize space efficiently. Highly recommended!
Very Impressed with This Espresso Maker So Far
I have never had an espresso maker like this. I bought it for my vacation home; I usually use a superautomatic, but prices have skyrocketed, so I decided to take a chance, and I am glad I did. This espresso maker makes great coffee, and I was surprised by the flexibility of grind, amount of ground coffee dispensed, water temperature, etc. The water tank is large. The steam wand works very well. Note: the unit depressurizes itself after steaming into the drip tray, so you need to watch for water buildup. The bean hopper holds a good amount of beans, and the lid seals well to keep them fresh. I have used it for about two months, every weekend, making about 12 cups per weekend, and so far so good. I have no idea about long-term reliability, but so far so good!
Dismal reliability and nonexistent support
I regret buying this espresso machine. It worked okay at first, but after descaling, it became erraticβ€”controls malfunctioned, and it wouldn't stop extracting automatically. The puck was watery. Worst of all, Kismile ignored my calls and emails. Amazon refunded me. I switched to Breville and recommend you do the same.
