JustSmart EA81P070 Review — 20 Bar Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine with Review
The JustSmart EA81P070 is a semi-automatic espresso machine designed for home baristas who want an all-in-one solution. It combines a 20-bar Italian pump, built-in conical burr grinder with 30 settings, and a steam milk frother wand. This machine targets those seeking to replicate café-quality lattes and cappuccinos without professional equipment. At around $179, it offers a complete barista accessory kit, including a milk frother, tamper, and more. The 1.5-liter removable water tank and detachable drip tray simplify maintenance. While it lacks digital controls, its mechanical operation provides a tactile brewing experience. Ideal for beginners and intermediate users, the EA81P070 aims to deliver consistent extraction and rich crema.
Product Overview
Setting up the JustSmart EA81P070 is straightforward. The machine's stainless steel finish gives it a professional look that fits most kitchen countertops. Weighing 24 pounds, it is sturdy but still manageable to move for cleaning. The built-in conical burr grinder allows you to grind fresh beans for each shot, with 30 adjustable settings to dial in the perfect coarseness. This eliminates the need for a separate grinder, saving counter space. The 1.5-liter water tank is ample for several consecutive drinks, and its removable design makes refilling and cleaning easy. The drip tray is also detachable for hassle-free maintenance. The machine includes a complete barista accessory kit: a tamper, milk frother, and cleaning tools. However, the only included component listed is the milk frother, so the exact contents may vary. The dimensions (12.44 x 13.78 x 16.32 inches) mean it fits under standard cabinets. ETL certified for safety, it comes with a one-year warranty and lifetime technical support. For home baristas, this machine offers a balance of automation and manual control.

Build & Materials
The JustSmart EA81P070 is constructed primarily from stainless steel and plastic. The stainless steel exterior gives it a durable, premium appearance. The removable water tank is made from clear plastic, allowing easy water level inspection. The drip tray is stainless steel with a plastic grid. The portafilter is chrome-plated brass, ensuring heat retention. The machine's dimensions (12.44 x 13.78 x 16.32 inches) and weight (24 pounds) indicate solid build quality. The conical burr grinder is housed internally, with a bean hopper on top.
Maintenance is straightforward. The drip tray and water tank are removable for cleaning. The steam wand requires purging after use to prevent milk residue buildup. The grinder can be adjusted via a side knob. ETL certification indicates compliance with safety standards. The one-year warranty covers defects, and lifetime technical support is available. Overall, the design prioritizes functionality and durability for daily home use.
Shot Quality
The 20-bar Italian pump provides sufficient pressure for espresso extraction. When properly dialed in, the grinder produces consistent grounds, leading to even extraction. Many users report achieving a thick crema with good flavor. The 1350W motor heats water quickly, reducing wait time between shots. However, without a PID controller, temperature stability may vary, especially during consecutive pulls. Still, for the price, the shot quality is competitive with other budget espresso machines.
The steam wand performs adequately for milk frothing. It produces microfoam suitable for latte art, though the steaming power is not as high as commercial machines. The wand is articulating, making it easy to position the pitcher. For cappuccinos, it can create a creamy foam. Some trial and error may be needed to master steaming technique. Overall, the JustSmart EA81P070 delivers good shot quality and milk frothing for its price range, appealing to home baristas seeking an affordable all-in-one solution.
